HUGE Project Off the List

Thanks to Chris, we can cross off "Cut Down Trees" off of our to-do list.  I was thinking we should cut down most of the trees in our yard, then had everyone tell me that's bad for re-sell, so we only cut down the two that were causing the most trouble.  They were on the west side of our house and got into our sewer line.  Every 6 months or so we were suppose to pour this chemical down our drains so it would kill the roots that got into the pipes - I figured, let's just get rid of the problem.  Here are some before and after pics:

BEFORE:

 HALF WAY THERE:

INTERMISSION:  we came out to say "hi" to dad, though it was more like "HI!" because he had his ear plugs in and couldn't hear anything.  this is about the same time grandma and grandpa call showed up to say hi.  thankfully grandpa stayed and helped while leola and i were with grandma.  the bottom pic is of her fighting wanting to go to sleep...  this child doesn't want to miss a thing!!!

CONTINUED:

ALMOST THERE: about now, we had to return the chainsaw to home depot.  grandma and grandpa were headed in the same direction and were most awesome enough to take it back for us so we could keep working.  just after, brother jasper came over to help finish up.  so nice of him as he'd been working all day!  THANKS ALL!!

AFTER:

Again, thanks to all those who helped and to Chris for making me happy and doing all my projects for me!  Thanks to Parker and Jamie for letting us use their truck and trailer, and THANKS to mom and dad for letting us haul it up to their property!  What a day it was!!  This certainly opened up our side yard quite a bit.  I know Chris needs a rest from this one, but...  On to the next one!!

Doesn't it make you feel so good to just tackle a project and then be done with it? It does look better. And I think people do like trees, but not right next to their house and growing into the sewer lines. Just my own opinion. Glad everything is going great for you guys! Oh, and over at the library, there are lots of mom's who come with babies who still have to sit on their laps. Just so you know. It says it's for 0-3. Hope you are having a fantastic summer!
